How Much Do Window and Door Installation Leads Cost?

By Cesar Contreras · July 29, 2026

Window and door leads cost more than most trades. That scares people off. It should not.

A plumbing call might be worth $400. A full window replacement can be worth $15,000. You can afford to pay more for the lead, and you should.

How much does a window or door lead cost?

Most window and door companies pay somewhere between $75 and $300 per lead. Full-home replacement searches sit at the top of that range. Single door jobs sit near the bottom.

The range is wide because it depends on your market, the season, and how many companies are advertising against you.

Why are these leads more expensive?

Because the jobs are worth more, so everyone bids more. That is the whole reason. High job value pulls in more advertisers, and more advertisers push the price up.

The right way to judge the price is against your own numbers, not against another trade:

  • What is your average job worth?
  • How many quotes turn into signed work?
  • What does one booked job cost you in marketing?

If a $12,000 job costs you $900 in marketing, that is a good month. The lead price on its own tells you almost nothing.

Why do window buyers take so long to decide?

Because it is a big purchase they only make once or twice in their life. Homeowners research for weeks. They read about energy savings. They check rebates. They look at three or four window and door companies before anyone gets a call.

That long window is a problem if you only show up at the end. It is an advantage if you show up the whole way through, because by the time they call, they already trust you.

Should you market doors separately?

Yes, and most companies do not. Everyone advertises windows. Far fewer bother with entry doors, patio doors, and sliding doors.

That makes door searches cheaper to win. Door jobs are smaller, but they are faster to close, and a door customer very often needs windows later.

How do you lower the cost per booked job?

Three things move the number more than anything else:

  • Answer fast. The first company to respond usually gets the in-home appointment.
  • Show proof. Real photos of finished jobs and recent reviews close more quotes than a lower price does.
  • Stop buying shared lists. If the same homeowner is talking to three installers, you are paying to compete on price.
